New conveyor feed boosts yield of Eddy Current Separator
Product distributor replaces vibratory chute and prevents clogging The conveyor feed recently developed by Goudsmit Magnetics consists of a conveyor belt feed that is supplied by a product distributor. This prevents clogging of the vibratory chute during the recycling process and increases the yield of non-ferrous metals. Sticky or damp product streams, such as incinerator bottom ash (IBA) and refuse-derived fuel (RDF) adhere to the surface of vibratory chutes, preventing them from distributing the product evenly. The product takes on a preferred orientation (the path of least resistance) preventing formation of a homogeneous layer, which results in reduced yield of non-ferrous metals. Until now, a common solution to this problem was to clean the feed belt or vibratory chute at weekly or monthly intervals. This, however, means unnecessary downtime and extra maintenance. removes metal particles (»30 µm) from powders in the food industry Goudsmit Magnetics introduces an automatically cleanable ‘Easy Clean’ magnetic separator. This is used to remove metal particles (>30 µm) from powders in the food, chemical, ceramic, plastics and other industries. The Easy Cleanflow magnet is notable for its high magnetic flux density of over 12,000 gauss on the bars that come into direct contact with the product, as well as a deeply penetrating magnetic field that effectively makes powders and granulates iron-free at high flow rates. The magnet is dustproof to an overpressure of 1.5 bar and includes a simple controller. The user-friendly cleaning requires 6 bar air and a 24 VDC start signal. The captured ferrous particles land in a collection tray. Magnetic head pulley separator achieves value of 9000 gauss Goudsmit has recently upgraded the magnetic head pulley separators, increasing the generated magnetic force to over 9000 gauss. These high gradient separators remove weakly magnetic and paramagnetic particles down to around 10-15 mm from bulk and recycling flows. This includes bits of stainless steel from shredded WEEE, ASR and plastic flows. It is also suitable for removal of specific soil contaminants, soil, stones and iron dust from ceramic material or blasting grit. The magnetic head pulley has a radial magnet construction and is used for smaller fractions, up to around 10-15 mm, and for single layer thicknesses. A precondition for optimal separation is that the ferromagnetic particles have been previously removed from the product stream, thus enabling the separator to function with optimal effect on the weakly magnetic particles which pass the magnet at a constant flow rate.
