Celsius Lime heater for Interfaceflor screw heat exchanger

The American InterfaceFLOR is the company when it comes to being a forerunner in durable responsible design and production of multi-functional and efficient modular floor concepts.

Celsius has been commissioned by the European main office in Scherpenzeel for the delivery of a lime heater. This heater will have to heat 13000 kg (!!) lime per hour or will have to heat from 10 °C to 130 °C by means of thermal oil with a temperature of 220 °C. The lime has to be heated to be able to mix it with bitumen to eventually serve as a basis for the “bottom part of carpet tiles”.

In Europe, InterfaceFLOR has factories in Craigavon (North-Ireland) Halifax (United Kingdom) and Scherpenzeel (the Netherlands).

Ray Anderson, the international director and founder of Interface, Inc., states that the objective is for his company to be operating environmental neutral in 2020. With this objective in mind, he says he aims for, among others, a greenhouse gas reduction of 6,7% per year for the next fifteen years. InterfaceFLOR achieved this reduction because of additional efficiency of the production process (37%). The use of the Celsius screw heat exchanger fits with this functional company operation.
