Course Background
This intensive short course, prepared originally at the request of the Department of Trade and Industry, was first held in 1981. Since then it has been attended by over three hundred engineers from industry and has been regularly updated to reflect changes in industrial practice and new developments in pneumatic conveying technology.
Presentations will cover subjects such as System Components, Design Techniques, Operation and Control of Blow Tank Systems, Recent Developments, Explosion Hazards and Operational Problems. The course also deals with the important, but often neglected area of Interfacing Storage Bins with Conveying Systems.

The course extends over two days, with the emphasis being on the practical aspects of technology. It commences with a comprehensive introduction to give a basic understanding of the operation of pneumatic pipelines, before moving on to the more detailed work in the main sections.

The two day course will be held at the University of Greenwich Medway Short Course Centre, Chatham Maritime, Kent.
Course Team
The course leader is Mike Bradley, Professor of Bulk and Particulate Technologies and Director of The Wolfson Centre. He has worked internationally on design and troubleshooting of Bulk Solids Handling systems in the capacity of both commercial consultant and research expert for over twenty years.
Also contributing will be Mr Richard Farnish, Consultant Engineer, who has over ten years experience in commercial design work related to materials handling, and Dr Rob Berry, a Research Fellow with several years experience in the area of pneumatic conveying systems.
Note that: The Wolfson Centre reserves the right to substitute leaders of equal quality should this be dictated by circumstances beyond their control.
Registration and Fee
Intending participants should complete the booking form. The fee will be payable upon your return of the registration form and covers lectures, course notes, lunch, refreshments and an evening meal on the first evening of the course. All applicants will be acknowledged and confirmed. Cheques should be made payable to: `University of Greenwich`. A discount of 5% is available for 3 or more delegates from one company attending the same course at the same time.
Note:
In order to enable sufficient time to be devoted to discussing delegates problems, the numbers for this course will be limited. Early registration is therefore recommended.
